with our non-fiction reading workshop unit.
This week we focused on presidents and animals.

writing we:

writing our How To pieces

wrote about what we can do on the 100th day of school that we could
not on the first
-Read
our How To pieces to the class
In
Fundations we:
-Introduced
vowel teams (two vowels together that make one sound: ai, ay, ee, ea, ey, oi,
oy, oo, ue, ou, aw, au)
-We
also introduced these sight words: each, between, see, say, says
-Next
week will be a review week
We also
learned about idioms and George Washington in our Scholastic News.
This week we also met our new classmate, Oscar! The boys and girls did a great job welcoming him into our classroom and helping him adjust to our schedule.
On Thursday, we celebrated the 100th day of school! We visited all of the first grade classes to see all of the great projects for the day.

celebrated Valentine’s Day by exchanging Valentine’s, creating BEE mine
Bumblebees and watching Charlie Brown’s Valentine.
Read Across Wrentham ended today.
