Here are a few highlights of our week:
In math we:
*Reviewed decomposition using a ten frame and whole-part-part board
*Worked on decomposing numbers up to 10
*Worked on word problems
In reading we:
*Began partner reading
*Discussed how to be a good listener for our partners
*Picked perfect spots for reading
*Read books about pumpkins to correspond with our field trip
In writing we:
*Continue to work on our narrative stories. We focused on small moments. A few more students were able to share this week.
*We created a sentence buddy to help us remember important parts of a sentence. Such as ending parks and a capital letter at the beginning of a sentence.
In Fundations we:
*Introduced digraphs, practiced locating them in words, and had a hunt around the classroom to find the words with digraphs
In science we:
*Continued our plant unit by planting brassica seeds. We will be using a special light for the plants because they need constant light. We also measured and trimmed our grass.
We had so much fun on our field trip to Ward’s Berry Farm! Make sure to visit our classroom blog to see the pictures!
Reminder: Next week we do not have school on Monday or Tuesday.
Have a great long weekend,
Miss Walsh
