This week in Fundations focused on tapping
out CVC words and writing the sounds we hear.
Our sight
words for the week were: do, that, as, has
Wow I can’t
believe we had another short week due to snow!
It may have been short but we were able to celebrate the 100th
day of school and Valentine’s Day. This
week at school we:

100 CVC words for the 100th day of school! They had a lot of
patience and did fantastic!

Created
100th day of school glasses
·
Wrote
about what they could not do on the first day of school but can do now
·
Fished
for numbers and then colored the number in on a hundreds chart
·
Practiced
word families
·
Read
Rooster’s Off to See the World
·
Graphed
candy hearts
·
Colored
by sight words
·
Made
love bugs
·
Had
a OT lesson on how to draw a person
·
Thought
about why people write and created a list
·
Decorated
Valentine’s bag
·
Gave
Valentine’s to our classmates
Ask your child what else they
learned. When we come back from vacation and for the month of March we
will be working on writing CVC words in our sentences and independent quiet
reading. Our sight words will be ‘that,’
and ‘do’.
