Our sight words for the week were: here, go, from

This week at school we:

·         Reviewed the numbers 22 and 23

·         Wrote about what we learned on our field trip

·         Went on a field trip to Moose Hill!

·         Had independent reading time and then read books aloud to our classmates

·         Learned more about addition and subtraction

·         Identified real vs. not real CVC words

·         Made decomposition umbrellas with rain drops

·         Read Click, Clack, Moo and Giggle, Giggle, Quack

Ask your child what else they learned this week.  We will have the same sight words next week.  Next week we will be introducing digraphs (ch, th, sh, wh, ck).

Our sight words for the week were: here, go, from

This week at school we welcomed a new student!  The boys and girls jumped right in to show him the classroom and helped him with our routine!

This week at school we:

·        Read the Night Before St. Patrick’s Day

·        Had a leprechaun visit our room and leave a game and cookies for us!

·        Practiced addition and subtraction word problems

·        We wrote a little bit more on our The Giving Tree writings

·        Mrs. Papparo came in to do a ‘Mindful’ lesson.

·        Practiced our silent reading and reading to the class from our book bins

·        Reviewed decomposition of the number 10

·        Read more about the life cycle of a tree

·        Did a CVC word hunt

·        Used the Big Bus program on the computers

Ask your child what else they learned.  Our sight words next week will be ‘here,’ ‘go,’ and ‘from.’

This week at school we:

·        Focused on vowel sounds, each day we focused on one of the vowels

·        Worked on the numbers 20 and 21

·        Practiced addition and subtraction word problems

·        Read The Giving Tree and then wrote about what we would ask the giving tree for

·        Read There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Clover

·        Practiced our silent reading and reading to the class from our book bins

·        Reviewed decomposition of the number 10

·        Began learning about the life cycle of a tree and maple sugaring

·        Worked on our sight words

·        Celebrated the winter birthdays with popsicles

This week in Fundations we focused on writing words by stretching the sounds we hear and saying the words slow like a turtle.

Our sight words for the week were: one, two, three, four, five, be

We finally had a full week of school!  This week at school we:

·        Read many Dr. Seuss books

·        Worked on the number19

·        Practiced addition and subtraction word problems

·        Read I Wish I Had Duck Feet and then wrote about something we wish we had

·        Representative Shawn Dooley, Kelly’s mom and Maddock’s grandmother came in to read to us!

·        Practiced our silent reading and reading to the class from our book bins

·        Worked on rhyming like Dr. Seuss does

·        Decomposed the number 10 with apples after reading Ten Apples On Top by Dr. Seuss
 
Ask your child what else they learned.  Our sight words next week will be ‘one,’ ‘two,’ ‘three,’ ‘four,’ ‘five,’ and ‘be’.
